"That's good to hear," he says genuinely, then stands, knowing he can't invite her to sit here with him, not when he's managed to soak the sand around him. It's stuck to his shorts and his legs and he brushes himself off absently, then looks at the oxygen tank briefly.
"Have you ever gone diving?" he asks suddenly. It's one of those things he enjoys sharing and while he's happy to teach people he doesn't know well, it's one of those things he'd rather share with the people he cares about. His friends, those close to him. He's looking forward to the day when Sam is big enough that he can take her on a short, shallow dive, getting her used to the respirator and the mask.
It's something he'd like to share with Sookie, though, if she's interested. He's shown Neil, taken Claire, he might even be able to talk Lucy into it, but right now, he grins and nods toward it. "I should teach you sometime." Not now, not when she's wearing such a pretty dress, but he hopes she'll say yes.
