"No," Mathias says, then laughs, because while it's preferable to there actually being someone there, he doesn't like the idea of hallucinations either. "It would be safer for you and Sam, anyway," he adds. "But hopefully I'm not seeing things either. Hopefully it was just the sun in my eyes."
He doesn't believe it, though, and he's sure that it's evident in his voice.
