"She is," Mathias agrees, nodding again. More hair slips out from behind his ears and he has to push it back again, feeling frustrated with his state, feeling as if it's somehow hindering him. He can't blame it on being a woman, though, and he knows this.
"She's very... she's scared," he explains, knowing that makes it sound like he's been doing something wrong. "She's been staying with me. In my room, but I wanted to tell you that she was there before... before someone else did. Then it would make it seem like I was hiding something."
