"I think she'll be okay. In time," he ventures. Sam still isn't his own and he's very aware of that, very conscious of the boundaries that his relationship with the little girl has, but at the same time, he's gotten to know her much better since she's come under Veronica's care.
"She likes me well enough so far," he adds with a smile. "That, at the very least, gives me hope."
