He gives her a reassuring smile, hoping that he's making this easier on both of them, knowing that it will probably be an adjustment no matter what he does. "That is probably the best way to do it. It will help her adjust to the idea of being here more often."
At least, he certainly hopes that's how it will work. This isn't something he's ever done before, especially not with a child involved, and he's doing his best, but even his best is still a guess.
