Mathias laughs at that, genuinely laughs and for the first time he thinks maybe this might not be just about trying to deal with his grief. All his life, he's dealt with things on his own, pressed them down, kept them silent, and this doesn't have to be any different. If he allows himself, he can actually have a good time here.
