"Is this the royal 'you' or are you really that worried about me?" Mathias asks teasingly and he almost laughs, a soft, hoarse noise in the back of his throat. It feels sort of strange and he wonders if he really hasn't laughed at all since coming to the island.

"I don't think you will need to worry about me," he adds in a reassuringly voice, although he's still smiling that same smile. "I can barely manage to go outside alone without getting drunk first."
