"It seems that this place makes a habit of taking people from moments like that," Mathias says, looking down at Julie, wishing things like this hadn't happened to either of them. It's as she says, a terrible thing to have in common, but at the same time he's glad she's told him the story. It makes his seem a little less crazy.
